Today we have to say goodbye to our beloved Zeus, FKA Zale.
He has been struggling with mobility issues for about 6 weeks. X-Rays showed a possible torn ligament back on September 3rd. He was prescribed pain/inflammation medications which improved his mobility (along with the use of a helpemup harness). We had a visit on September 29th at a different vet to see if laser therapy might be helpful. During the exam the vet was surprised when examining the left knee because it was not what she expected when comparing it to the September 3rd X-Rays. A new imaging was taken which showed significant bone cancer in Zeus’s upper and lower left leg. I decided that it would be best for him to be relieved from his pain at home with all of his family surrounding him.
Zeus has been such a stoic man, paying attention to his family not showing anyone that he was is severe pain. He resting comfortably at home until his final moments.
