I was asked to post a one year update on Shep. He’s been doing really well. He settled in faster than I thought he would. We’ve been doing group classes four days a week since July and his obedience is coming along nicely. Next week we have our evaluation for our AKC Tricks Dog Novice certification. He loves his tricks class, especially the stuff that is an intro to agility (going through the tunnel, jumping through hoops, balance beam). Hopefully the training center will offer agility classes - I think he will really enjoy that. Also hoping to get our CGC this year. Looking forward to our second summer, with plans to hit the trails around Frederick. He still isn’t a fan of the pool, but he hasn’t met a creek he doesn’t love. He did discover the hard way that skunks are not something to chase - still trying to get the smell completely off his head. Looking forward to more of his crazy antics.
