Striking Sheeba is a stunning 2-year-old German Shepherd with a quiet strength and a heart full of hope. Abandoned at a boarding facility in the south alongside her housemate, Xema, Sheeba spent nearly a year waiting for a family that never came back. Thanks to a local rescue and the support of MAGSR, Sheeba now has a chance to find the loving home she’s been waiting for.
A gentle, observant girl, Sheeba takes her time to warm up, but once she does, her loyalty runs deep. Her calm presence and affectionate nature make her a truly special and steady companion for someone who appreciates a dog with quiet grace. True to her clever nature, this girl is ready to learn and would benefit greatly from continued training. She’s intelligent and responsive, and with the right guidance, she’ll gain confidence and develop into a well-mannered, trusting companion. Training will not only help her adjust to home life after so long in a kennel; it will also strengthen the bond between Sheeba and her future family.
Spirited Sheeba would do best in a home without small animals, including little dogs, cats, rabbits, or chickens. Her ideal environment is one where she can feel secure and thrive without the stress of managing prey-like distractions. Ideally, she is looking for a calm, stable environment with parents who understand the importance of routine, gentle leadership, and patience. A home committed to helping her learn and grow will help her blossom into the loyal companion she’s meant to be.
If you’re someone who sees the beauty in resilience and values a dog with depth, devotion, and untapped potential, Sheeba might be your perfect match. She’s ready to leave her past behind and begin a new chapter, with someone who believes in her. Come meet Sheeba and experience the quiet magic of a dog who’s ready to love—and be loved—wholeheartedly. Think she might be the missing piece in your home? Ask to meet her today!

Amara and her brother, Trigger, were beyond adored by their family. Their days were filled with playtime, seasonal adventures, and the kind of love that only a true home can offer. They knew stability, comfort, and connection. But sometimes, life delivers heartbreaking twists. When a child in the household became critically ill, their loving family did everything possible to ensure that both their human and furry loved ones were cared for. Despite their best efforts, it became clear that continuing to meet everyone’s needs long-term was no longer sustainable. With heavy hearts and incredible courage, the family made the gut-wrenching decision to seek rescue placement for their beloved dogs. It wasn’t made lightly—it was made out of deep love and an unwavering desire to do what was best for Amara and Trigger. We made them a promise: that we would find forever families who would love them just as fiercely.
Amara is a stunning and affectionate girl with a zest for life. Thanks to her previous family’s commitment and love, she comes with a solid foundation in socialization and good manners. She’s confident, kind, and eager to please. An outdoor enthusiast at heart, Amara would love a forever family who enjoys adventures—whether it's hiking trails, strolling through the neighborhood, or exploring new parks together. Her ideal day includes fresh air, fun, and time with her people.
Smart and food-motivated, Amara learns new things quickly and takes treats gently. She already has some obedience skills under her belt and is primed to thrive with continued training. Not only will training help her adjust to her new life, but it will also be a beautiful way to build a lasting bond. Amara is crate trained, housebroken, and familiar with the rhythms of living in a home. Like all new family members, she’ll need a little time and patience to settle into new routines—but she’ll pay you back tenfold in love, loyalty, and kisses.
If your family is active, loving, and ready for a loyal companion who’s equal parts beauty and brains, Amara might just be the perfect fit. She’s ready to write her next chapter—and she’s hoping it’s with you.

Not all babies come into the world surrounded by love, warmth, and safety. While some are born into nurturing homes that ensure every need is met, others arrive in conditions that are heartbreaking to witness. Sadly, the nine Island Puppies — Country Lemonade, Coconut Bay, Beach Walk, Early Sunrise, Island Guava, Maple Pancake, Mountain Lodge, Pomegranate, and Vanilla Cloud — were born into the latter.
Emaciated, sick, and covered in dirt, feces, and fleas, these fragile babies were confiscated by animal control and brought to a local shelter. Too young to be adopted and far too vulnerable for a shelter environment, a plea for help went out. Thankfully, another rescue organization stepped in with a foster placement and pulled the entire family to safety. From the moment they arrived, it was clear these pups needed immediate and intensive care. Vaccinations were given. Deworming treatments began. Medicated baths washed away layers of neglect. Vet checks were scheduled, feeding schedules established — and slowly, steadily, these babies began to heal.
The Island Litter is a group of true survivors. Despite enduring more hardship in their first few weeks than any puppy should, they remain joyful, loving, and eager to connect. Like all German Shepherds, they are intelligent, energetic, and deeply loyal. Knowing these pups would thrive best within a breed-specific rescue, the organization that initially saved them reached out to MAGSR — and we didn’t hesitate. These puppies deserved the best chance at a safe and happy life, and we were honored to welcome them to the MAGSR family.
Today, the Island Litter is flourishing in foster homes, each one surrounded by love, structure, routine, and care. They’re working hard on crate training and housebreaking, enjoying meals and playtime, and soaking up all the affection they can get. Quick and clever, they’re food-motivated — which makes future training a breeze! But please remember: puppies are a lot of work. They’ll chew, whine, make messes, and keep you on your toes. They’ll also fill your home with laughter, love, and unforgettable moments. With consistency, patience, and commitment, each of these pups has the potential to grow into an incredible adult dog.
If you have the heart, time, and dedication to help one of these special puppies continue their journey, apply today. They’ve survived the unimaginable — now they deserve a lifetime of safety, love, and belonging.

Trigger and his sister, Amara, were more than just pets—they were cherished family members. Together, they shared a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, adventure, and the simple joys that come with being home. But sometimes, even the most loving families face unimaginable hardship. When a child in the household became critically ill, their family worked tirelessly to care for every member of the household—human and furry alike. Over time, it became clear that the setup was no longer sustainable. With broken hearts, they made the courageous and loving decision to place Trigger and Amara into rescue, ensuring they would continue to receive the care, attention, and stability they deserve. We made a promise to their family: to find Trigger and Amara forever homes where they would be loved for a lifetime. Now, it's Trigger’s turn to find that next chapter.
Trigger is everything you’d want in a companion: goofy, playful, affectionate, and endlessly endearing. Thanks to his family's dedication, he comes with a solid foundation in socialization and basic manners. With an outgoing personality and a love for the outdoors, Trigger is always ready for the next great adventure—especially if it includes squeaky toys, rope tugs, or balls. He’s a toy fanatic with a big heart and an even bigger sense of fun.
Like his sister, Trigger is treat-motivated and gentle when taking food, which makes training both effective and enjoyable. He already has a few skills in place and is ready to build on that foundation. Training will help Trigger strengthen his bond with his new family and give him the confidence to navigate new experiences. That said, Trigger is a bit more sensitive than his sister. He may need a little extra encouragement and patience when faced with something unfamiliar or overwhelming. With kind, consistent guidance, he blossoms into the happy, loving boy he truly is.
Trigger is looking for an active family who enjoys the outdoors, has a soft spot for goofy antics, and understands the value of patience and consistency. He’s already crate trained and housebroken and, like all new family members, will need a little time to adjust to the rhythms of his new home. In return, Trigger will give you endless kisses, comedic relief, and the kind of loyalty that only comes from a dog who knows what it means to be loved.

Delightful Daisy was originally welcomed to the MAGSR family as a puppy. She was one of Marley's Disney babies. Well socialized for such a young girl and clearly quick witted, Daisy was adopted into an amazing household that cherished this lovely girl. Although her family clearly had every intention of keeping Daisy, when an issue occurred between Daisy and the senior female dog in the household, the decision was made to return her to the MAGSR family. Surrendering a beloved member of the family is never a decision that is made lightly. Daisy's family adored her; however, they knew that she would be more successful if placed in a different home. We know this was not easy for Daisy's family, but we promised to find Daisy an incredible match so that she can move forward and meet with success.
Intelligent, curious, and your typical energetic pup, Daisy is a social girl that doesn't miss a beat. She loves to know what's happening in the world around her and has a good nose. Taking in the smells of everything around her, Daisy can easily tell you everything that's happening in the neighborhood. As is true of all young dogs, Daisy has endless energy. It is critical that her forever family provide her with daily activities and training so that she meets with success. Exercising her body and her mind will help Daisy continue to build the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. With a solid understanding of the joys of endless toys, Daisy is a fan of balls, bones, and plush toys - although she has no qualms about tearing them to shreds. Tough toys are recommended for this lovely girl. Having lived in a home, Daisy is house broken and crate trained already. She understands some basic commands, but like all young pups, she does check to see if the handler will follow through. We all like to test our limits some days, right? When provided with structure, routine, clear expectations, and leadership, Daisy will thrive. Although Daisy has had the opportunity to live in the household, it will take her time to adjust to the expectations of her new family. When provided with time, patience, training, and daily exercise, we know she will meet with success. Daisy is lucky to already know some basic commands; however, it is critical that her family take her to training. Training will, not only help Daisy create a strong and healthy relationship with her forever family, but it will also help her further develop into a stable and confident adult. Besides, training may also come with food rewards from time to time. Daisy is food motivated and excited to start right away!
Daisy is a funny pup with a joyful personality who simply wants to be loved by her person. She is looking for an active family that will take her on adventures during the day and snuggle with her at night. If Daisy sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet her today!

Fabulous Fawn and her sister, Fern, were surrendered to a shelter with six litter mates. Known as the F litter, these babies entered into a system overwhelmed with what seems like an endless flow of animals in need and not enough safe places to put them. Shelter Staff were doing everything possible to keep up — spaying/neutering, working with rescue, and advocating tirelessly — but the number of homeless animals kept growing by the day, putting them at a critical breaking point. With eight little souls in their care and nowhere to safely place them, an urgent plea was sent out to the GSD rescue community. Three groups, including MAGSR, stepped forward to save the litter. With such a large litter, teamwork made it possible for all the babies to move into rescue placements. As part of the team effort MAGSR welcomed precious Fern and Fawn and placed both girls directly into loving foster homes.
Excited to bask in the comfort and safety of amazing homes, both girls are settling in well with their foster families. Although we are still getting to know both Fern and Fawn, they have proven to be friendly, affectionate, and playful little ladies. Over the next few days, both girls will begin learning the ins and outs of living in a home. Clearly smart little ladies, we are sure they will pick up quickly.
Although both Fawn and Fern are beyond adorable, please remember that puppies are a lot of work. They will whine, chew, have accidents, and fill your home with endless puppy antics. With time, training, patience, and leadership we know Fern and Fawn are going to develop into good canine citizens. If you’re looking for a sweet pup to fill your home with laughter, tail wags, and unconditional love, Fawn might just be your perfect match. She’s a blank slate ready to grow into an amazing companion with the right person or family by her side.

Stunning Jax found himself at a crowded shelter in the south unsure what he had done wrong to find himself there. Although shelter staff adored this handsome guy, the shelter environment was very stressful. Shepherds often struggle in shelter environments which makes it even more challenging for them to find forever families. Doing everything they could to help Jax move forward, staff members took this sweetheart on outings and to events. Even though he was an absolute star at events, Jax struggled to find placement; it seemed that this guy simply didn't have the options he needed to move forward. Knowing that Jax would likely be more successful if he was transferred to a breed specific rescue, shelter staff reached out to MAGSR for help. Our team knew this boy would be an addition to the family so, we welcomed him to MAGSR.
Joyful Jax is a loving and friendly guy. Surprisingly social, this boy has clearly had opportunities to interact with both people and other dogs. As a young guy, continued socialization in controlled settings will help him maintain his stability and confidence. This is key to Jax's success. Still in some ways a pup, Jax will be looking for a family that can provide him with daily opportunities to exercise both his body and his mind. Jax is an intelligent guy. He already knows a few commands and listens well. However, training will still be essential with his forever family. Not only will training help Jax develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen, but it will also help him build a strong and healthy bond with his forever family. Although it is obvious that someone along Jax's journey has spent time socializing him, we do not know how much experience he has had living in a household. As a result, Jax's family will need to provide him with time, patience, and routine while he adjusts to his new home. Structure and clear expectations will help Jax meet with success.
Unfortunately, Jax is heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have easily been prevented had he received monthly prevention. Jax is in the beginning stages of heartworm treatment. Although this is an expensive treatment, we know that Jax is more than worth the cost. Please consider donating to Jax's heartworm treatment. Not only will this help us ensure that Jax has everything he needs to move forward, it will also help us continue to support dogs with medical needs. Jax will need to take it easy over the next couple of months while he heals. However, we know he will be happiest if he can relax with his forever family while completing this process. Jax is looking for a forever family that will fill his days with snuggles and love. If this honey sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet Jax today!

Meet Skipper! Skipper is a young shepherd mix with a gentle heart and a bright spirit. He originally belonged to a young person who loved him dearly, but due to long days at work, Skipper was spending far too much time in a crate. It wasn’t the life he deserved, so with love and courage, his owner made the difficult choice to rehome him. Thankfully, Mid-Atlantic German Shepherd Rescue (MAGSR) was able to help this sweet boy move forward to a brighter future.
Skipper has so much to offer his next family:
Although Skipper already has a lot going for him, he is looking for a forever family that will continue to give him opportunities to meet with success. Skipper will excel with continued training. Not only will training help him further enhance his social skills, but it will also help him develop a strong and healthy bond with his forever family. This sweet, well-rounded boy is ready for a home where he’ll be a true companion, sharing in both adventures and quiet moments. Skipper can’t wait to finally live the good life—could it be with you?

Stunning Cordelia was picked up as a stray and brought to a local shelter with another young female GSD - Cressida. The two girls waited patiently for families to come and claim them. However, after waiting for a month, when no one stepped forward, shelter staff began working with the girls to find amazing forever families. Although they began teaching the girls basic commands and even began working with a local trainer, GSDs often struggle in the shelter environment as they require a more stable, calm, and predictable environment. Recognizing that Cordelia and Cressida would be more successful within a breed-specific rescue, both girls were transferred into MAGSR's care. Our team made sure that both girls settled into loving foster homes where they would have everything they needed to meet with success.
Cordelia is young, interactive, and very intelligent. Clearly a true representative of the breed, this adorable girl has many typical GSD traits; she is loyal, energetic, and protective of her family. Although clearly socialized with other dogs and people prior to her arrival at the shelter, Cordelia prefers a slow introduction to new people. Once given time to adjust, she is affectionate and interactive. As Cordelia moves forward, it is critical that her forever family continue to develop her socialization skills in a controlled manner with new people and varied environments. Training will also go a long way with Cordelia. Not only will training help this girl build a strong, healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. True of all shepherds, Cordelia will thrive with structure, routine, and leadership. Although we do not know much about this girl's past, we do know she has some foundation. Cordelia is already housebroken and crate trained. She enjoys the comforts of living with an incredible foster family and is quickly learning the ins and outs of living in their home. Treats are always welcome and Cordelia is happy to work for something special. However, so far she doesn't seem to understand the joys of toys. Not to worry, her foster family will continue to give her plenty of opportunities to play.
Cordelia is a young pup full of potential. If she sounds like the perfect companion for your household, ask to meet her today!

Sweet Hali was dumped in a busy metropolitan area. Members of the neighborhood saw it happen but weren't able to intervene. With shelters in the area significantly over populated, they were only able to bring in sick or injured dogs. This left Hali out on the streets trying to survive. Fortunately, she remained close to the area where she was originally dumped and community members fed her. Recognizing that Hali was an absolute honey who had found herself in an awful situation, varied members of the community stepped forward to help where they could. Delivery drivers gave her treats and the Amazon drivers in her area even left her blankets in the bed so that she would be as comfortable as possible.
Knowing that Hali would not remain safe if help didn't arrive soon, another rescue intervened and worked to safely trap Hali. With a temp foster home ready to hold onto Hali during her stray hold, she had a safe and warm place to stay once trapped. Although they wanted to ensure her safety so she could move forward, rescues in that area simply did not have an option for her. As a result, once her stray hold was up, they reached out to MAGSR for help. Our team knew that a large number of people had done everything they could to ensure that Hali was safe and loved, but they needed this last piece. Knowing Hali deserved every opportunity to succeed, we welcomed her to the MAGSR family.
Hali is an absolute sweetheart. Given some time to decompress after her time on the street, this lovely girl has done wonderfully in both her temporary foster home and her current foster home. Living with a pack of dogs, Hali has made herself right at home. She loves the comforts of living in a safe household and has been adjusting well to her foster family's routines. As is true of all young GSDs, Hali will be most successful when provided with clear rules, expectations, and leadership. With these key pieces in place, Hali will thrive. Training will go a long way with Hali. Not only will it help her develop a strong and healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen.
Unfortunately, we have learned that Hali is heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have been easily avoided had Hali been provided with heartworm prevention. Knowing that Hali needs treatment in order to move forward, our team is already moving forward with her care. Heartworm treatment is expensive; however, we know that Hali is more than worth the cost. Please consider donating to Hali's care as your donation will not only help Hali move forward, but it will also help us continue to support dogs with medical needs. Hali will need to take it easy over the next few months as she undergoes treatment. Once completed, Hali can continue to enjoy just being a regular dog. If lovely Hali sounds like the right match for your household, ask to meet this honey today!

From the moment she came home as a puppy, Sage was deeply loved. Her family gave her the best start in life — plenty of affection, care, and daily playtime. But when life took an unexpected turn, they made the incredibly selfless decision to surrender her to MAGSR, knowing she deserved more than they could give at the time. Surrendering is never an easy decision; however, when it is in the best interest of the dog, it is the right thing to do.
Now in our care, Sage continues to shine. This intelligent and perceptive girl responds beautifully to a calm and confident handler and is settling in well to her new placement. As with all new dogs, she’s being given time to decompress and adjust to her new environment — and with her soulful eyes and lovely spirit, she’s already winning hearts. Sage is loyal and eager to connect with her people. She thrives with structure, stimulation, and a clear sense of purpose. Like many shepherds, if she senses a lack of confident leadership, she may try to take control of the situation. That said, she is very receptive to guidance and rises to the occasion when given clear expectations.
A definite ball dog, Sage looks forward to her daily play sessions and will enthusiastically chase a ball around the yard. When training is thoughtfully woven into play, she’s quick to engage and learn. To support her growth, Sage has started working with one of our amazing community training partners — building confidence, sharpening commands, and learning to follow the handler’s lead. Continued training will be essential to her long-term success, as it is for all dogs.
Having previously lived in a home, Sage already understands many of the ins and outs of household life. She is housebroken and crate trained, enjoys brushing sessions, and knows the comfort of a soft bed. Still, like any new dog, she’ll need patience and time to adjust to the routines and expectations of her forever family. Proper decompression, leadership, and a set of routines will be key to her success.
Sage is searching for a home that will offer her the love, consistency, and structure that all dogs deserve — a family who will nurture her strengths and guide her gently through continued learning. In return, she offers her whole heart: a lifetime of loyalty, companionship, and unconditional love. If Sage sounds like the right match for your household, don’t wait — ask to meet her today!

Lovely Lilliana was picked up as a stray and brought to an overcrowded shelter. Her story is similar to so many dogs that end up in crowded runs hoping that they will be the lucky one to make it out alive. Although shelter staff work tirelessly to find the animals in their care safe and loving placements, sometimes the numbers of animals and needs are beyond overwhelming. The shelter where Lilliana was located was so inundated with dogs that she was overlooked until it was almost too late. Scheduled to be euthanized, another rescue realized that Lilliana needed a miracle. They knew she would be an incredible match for the right household but they didn't have an opening for her. Knowing that MAGSR may have an option for Lilliana, they reached out. We knew we couldn't let this little girl lose her light. So, with an incredible team effort the rescue community came together and pulled Lilliana before it was too late.
Lilliana is definitely filled with light and love. Friendly, easy to handle, and a lover, it is highly obvious that this girl was loved along her journey. A huge fan of the outdoors, Lilliana is easy to leash up and enjoys being outside. Joyful and playful, Lilliana will happily bounce around outside but is also content to get pets and love. Typical of the breed, Lilliana will be most successful in an environment where both her body and mind are exercised on a daily basis. Training will go a long way with this gorgeous girl. Not only will training help her develop a healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her build the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. Although we do not know anything about her past, we have discovered that Lilliana is already housebroken and crate trained. However, she doesn't always love the crate and can do some talking. Like any new dog, Lilliana will thrive with structure, routine, leadership, and clear expectations. This will help her adjust to the expectations of her forever family.
Unfortunately, Lillian is heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have easily been avoided had she been kept up to date with preventatives. Knowing that Lilliana needed to move forward with treatment, the rescue began the first steps in this process and our team already has plans for next steps. Heartworm treatment is expensive, but we know that lovely little Lillian is more than worth the cost. Please consider donating to Lilliana's care. Your donation will not only help Lilliana, but it will also help us continue to welcome dogs with medical needs to the MAGSR family. Lilliana will need to take it easy over the next couple of months during treatment. However, this will help her take the time to decompress and adjust to her forever family. Little Lucie was found at animal services by another amazing rescue. Recognizing that this lovely girl needed a safe option to move forward, they welcomed Lucie into their care. Lucie was showered with love and care - exactly what she needed. When visiting with one of our volunteers, a conversation about next steps for Lucie came about. Lucie was clearly a good girl but could use a little support with confidence. Knowing we had an option available that would provide Lucie with exactly what she needed to move forward, we welcomed her to the MAGSR family.
Little Lucie is an absolute sweetheart. Intelligent, responsive, and affectionate, this girl has already brought endless smiles to our volunteers. Still very young, Lucie is in many ways still a puppy. She is goofy, playful, and active. As is true with all of our young dogs, Lucie will need continued socialization in order to meet with success. Opportunities to learn about new people and animals in a variety of safe and controlled environments will help Lucy continue to learn about the world around her. Training will also be critical to Lucie's success. Not only will training help Lucie build a healthy and lasting bond with her forever family, but it will also help her develop the skills she needs to become a good canine citizen. Lucie is a lucky girl and has been placed with one of our amazing training partners - Mason Dixon K9. They are already working with Lucie to develop her confidence and obedience. She is already learning so much. As she moves forward, continued training to enhance Lucie's skills will continue to strengthen her foundation. As a little pocket rocket, this little lady may even be a good candidate for agility. Crate trained already, Lucie can't wait to find a family of her very own. She hopes to fill her days with playtime, activities, and cuddles.

When that rescue later reached out for help with some of the dogs in their care, MAGSR didn't think twice before stepping forward to assist - as we all know, teamwork makes the dream work.
At just a year old, Bear is still discovering the world and learning how to navigate it with curiosity and heart. Like many young dogs, he’s motivated to bond, quick to learn, and ready to belong. Super-smart and hungry for mental stimulation, Bear is soaking up training opportunities and responding well to consistency and positive reinforcement as he learns what it means to be a well-mannered adult. He’s making strides with housebreaking, crate training, and basic manners. With continued structure and guidance, his potential is limitless. Like any new dog, Bear will thrive with routine, leadership, and clear expectations; this will help him adjust smoothly and build a strong bond with his forever family. As a fun, energetic young boy, Bear still has plenty of silly goofball antics and lots of love to give as he matures into his adult self. Like any shepherd, he'll also need a home that will make sure he gets mental and physical exercise on a daily basis. If you’re interested in this handsome guy, ask to meet him today.
