Description

Miss Jackie and her housemate, Mr. Jack, were used for puppies. Their lives have been filled with little care, comfort, or kindness. When their owner decided that it was time for them to move on, their future options were very limited. Fortunately, another rescue heard about their situation and reached out to MAGSR for help.

Although we knew that both would need some additional love and attention, we also knew they deserved kindness and compassion. Miss Jackie is friendly, interactive, and goofy with her people. She seeks out attention from everyone around and is a bit of a social butterfly. Although Miss Jackie is wonderful with her people, she is not a huge fan of other furry creatures. With a high prey drive, Jackie likely needed this to survive the first 5 years of her life. As a result, she is looking for a home where she can be the sole focus of the family. Miss Jackie has done very well in her previous foster home. She is crate trained and house broken. However, once properly adjusted, she is able to move about freely in the house without causing issues when alone. Having lived in a household, Miss Jackie does understand the rules of living in a home; however, she will need to adjust to the general routine and structure of her forever home. An intelligent girl, Jackie has had some training and knows many of her basic commands. Further training is always positive as this will help Jackie exercise her mind as well as develop a healthy bond with her forever family.

Miss Jackie is a lovely lady who is looking for a forever family that will provide her with the leadership, safety, and love that she so clearly deserves. Could this be with you?

Updates:
Miss Jackie is a very sweet girl. She seems to love all humans and loves attention. She is a laid back, easy going dog. She loves going for long walks. She likes playing with certain toys. She is housebroken and crate trained. Miss Jackie prefers male dogs over females, she can be quite reactive to female dogs. She will get along with most male dogs, but when she wants her own space she'll react. I think it's safe to say Miss Jackie likes being the boss and if she had her choice she would like to be the only dog in the house.

Description

Little Summit was picked up on the side of the road and brought to a local shelter. Upon his arrival it was very apparent that Summit was in need of help and fast. Lethargic, dirty, and emaciated, shelter staff immediately began putting medical supports in place. When it was felt that Summit may be stabilizing, they reached out to MAGSR to see if we could bring this adorable little guy into our care so he could continue to get the support he needed in a more puppy friendly environment. We immediately welcomed Summit into the MAGSR family and placed him with an experienced foster family.

Although Summit entered the rescue feeling a little more like a puppy, unfortunately, this did not last long. Recognizing that Summit was again in need of medical support, his foster family rushed him to the ER. He is currently hospitalized with one of MAGSR's fantastic internal specialists. We are running tests and providing Summit with supportive care while our veterinarians work hard to determine next steps. Although MAGSR will do everything we can to help Summit survive, this is a very expensive undertaking. Please consider donating to Summit's care. Your financial support will not only help Summit but it will also help us meet the needs of other medical dogs.

Updates:
Sweet Summit received some fantastic care while at the ER. His little body was given supportive care while x-rays were run and an ultrasound performed. Everything came back looking great. As Summit rested, his body had the chance to begin recuperating. When ready, he began eating again and his puppy-like charms emerged. Within 24 hours, Summit was released to his foster family. Since his arrival back in their home, Summit has been playing, eating, and interacting the way puppies should. A huge fan of toys, Summit happily moves from toy to toy making sure he gives a little attention to each one. He is goofy and playful but also loves snuggles with his people. An incredible house guest, Summit has been making huge progress with housebreaking. He has yet to have an accident in his crate and seems to understand that the outside is for taking care of business. Clearly intelligent, Summit is beginning to learn a few simple commands. Food, praise, and toy motivated, this little guy is going to be the star at training class. Although an absolute joy to be around, please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family. Puppies are full of puppy energy and antics. They get into things, whine, and will chew on inappropriate items. With time, patience, adn training, Summit will develop into the good canine citizen we know he is destined to become. Summit is looking for a loving household that will commit to him for a lifetime. Could that be with you? As great as this news is, Houston and Zulu could still use your help.

Description

Skye was surrendered to a shelter when her family could no longer provide for her. Fortunately, a foster family was able to step up and take her into their care so that Skye could remain in a household while she waited for her forever family. Unfortunately, due to a sad turn of events, Skye's foster was injured and could no longer take care of her. Recognizing that Skye was out of options, rescue groups in the area began searching for a placement in another region. When asked if we could bring this lovely girl into the MAGSR family, we immediately stepped forward.

Skye is the sweetest, well mannered and tolerable girl. She is wonderful with small children, adults, and dogs, and even cats. Although it should be known that she does find the cats interesting. Having lived in a household, Skye is both housebroken and crate trained. She is comfortable and happy in her crate, on the floor, or even on the couch (if allowed). Lovable and affectionate, Skye is a big kisser but may be one of the sloppiest kissers you will ever meet. She is looking for a household that would appreciate a nice balance of playtime, training, and snuggles.

We have learned that Skye is heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have been avoided had Skye been provided with monthly heartworm preventatives. We have already begun Skye's treatment and the cost of her entire treatment will be covered by MAGSR. Treatment is expensive, but this sweet little girl is beyond worth the cost. Please consider donating toward Skye's treatment. Your generosity will help us save her and other dogs with medical needs. Although Skye will need to take it easy over the next few months while she undergoes treatment, she will be an easy patient as she already knows so much about living in a home. Skye is looking for a forever family that will commit to her for a lifetime. Could this be with you?

Description

Haruto and several of his siblings were confiscated from their household as their family could not properly care for them. As is true of most shepherds, when moved out of his home and into a crowded shelter, Haruto was scared not knowing what was happening. Fortunately, volunteers recognized that Haruto was a sweet guy and spent some extra time supporting him. Recognizing that Haruto would be most successful if transferred to a rescue, they reached out for help. We were happy to welcome Haruto to the MAGSR family.

Haruto is your typical young, energetic pup. He's playful and goofy personality easily wins over everyone around. Having had little routine or leadership prior to coming to MAGSR, Haruto will need to develop his manners in his new home. As is true of all dogs, training will go a long way for this guy. A regular participant in doggy playgroup, Haruto is a social guy particularly, when with his brother Haru. These two pups simply love to play together. Haruto is looking for an active family that will help him burn his energy both physically and mentally every day. If Haruto sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet him today!

Description

Beautiful Stella was found on the streets of a big, busy city. She was taken to a shelter with the hopes that her family would come and claim her. Unfortunately, no one came to get this lovely girl. Shelters have been quickly reaching capacity over the last few months and this shelter found itself in the same situation. Although they tried to help Stella find a loving forever home, shelter staff recognized that Stella would be more successful if she was transferred to a breed specific rescue. When we heard of Stella's need, MAGSR welcomed her to the family.

Stella is a gorgeous, playful girl. She can be timid and a little shy when first meeting new people. However, given time and patience, Stella's lovely personality will shine. Having participated in doggy play groups at the shelter, Stella enjoys the company of other dogs and has participated in many doggy play sessions. However, as is true of most dogs when she is tired, she will let the other dogs know she needs a break. As a young girl, Stella will benefit from continued socialization with people, other animals, and in a variety of environments. This will help her develop into a stable adult. Training will also be very important for Stella as it will help her bond with her new family as well as develop the skills needed to become a confident dog.

Unfortunately, we have learned that Stella is heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have been avoided had she been provided with monthly preventatives. Stella's heartworm treatment has already begun and she is doing very well. The cost of her entire treatment will be covered by MAGSR. Treatment is expensive, but this gorgeous girl is more than worth the cost. Please consider donating to Stella's treatment. Your generosity will help us save her and other dogs with medical needs. Although Stella will need to take it slow over the next few months, she will be back to full strength soon. Stella is looking for a loving forever home that will commit to her for a lifetime. Could that be with you?
