Description

Rocky and his buddy, Misty, were adopted from MAGSR a few years ago by an amazing family. They were cherished beyond words and have known the power of love. Sometimes life throws a curveball and things change in an instant. When an unexpected circumstance arose, their family knew that Rocky and Misty needed a safe place to land. So, they contacted MAGSR. Knowing these dogs were lucky to have an incredible family that would do anything for them including giving them up, we immediately welcomed both Rocky and Misty back to the MAGSR family.

Rocky is a big, sweet, loving boy. Social, affectionate, and always ready for a good lean in, when Rocky loves you, he loves you with his whole heart. An alpha by nature, this honey leads with a calm and confident nature. He knows exactly who he is and has a stable personality. Having lived in a phenomenal home, Rocky appreciates the joy of a soft, warm bed, endless toys, and daily interactions. Crate trained, housebroken, and comfortable with the daily activities of a household, this boy understands the expectations of living in a home. However, as is true of any new dog, Rocky will need time to adjust to the expectations, rules, and routines of his new family. A smart guy, Rocky already knows several commands. He enjoys daily walks and is happy to hang out with his people outside. Although he has some training on board, Rocky will benefit from attending training with his new family. Not only will training help Rocky develop a strong and healthy bond with his family, but it will also help him develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen.

Handsome Rocky is looking for a forever family that has plenty of toys, treats, and snuggles. If your family is looking for a calm, confident, and playful guy who will fill your home with love, ask to meet Rocky today.

It seems likely that Sky is one of those babies who knew kindness early on, but was abandoned as he got a little older. Fortunately, a kind person made sure he was brought to the safety of MAGSR, where they knew he would find a safe and loving forever home and a life filled with love.

Description

Cheon Doong, which means Thunder in Korean, is a stunning, soulful 7-year-old German Shepherd whose heart is as big as his paws. Deeply devoted and endlessly affectionate, he was once the cherished companion of a loving dad—his whole world. When his person passed away unexpectedly, Cheon Doong found himself confused and grieving. But his family knew one thing for certain: their loved one would want his loyal shadow to be safe, happy, and loved again. That’s when MAGSR stepped in. Now part of the MAGSR family, Cheon Doong is looking for a new chapter—a soft place to land and a heart to call home.

Cheon Doong is a gentle, patient, and incredibly loving dog who thrives on connection. He’s especially affectionate with women and children, always adapting his energy to be gentle and calm. Whether it’s quietly resting his head in your lap or following you from room to room, Cheon Doong just wants to be near the people he loves. Despite his size, he’s remarkably respectful—no pushiness, no guarding, no chaos—just steady companionship and soft eyes that say, “I’m here for you.”

Having lived in a caring home, Cheon Doong comes with an impressive foundation. In addition to being housebroken and crate trained, Cheon Doong is also well-mannered around food. Clearly socialized with other dogs, he has a polite manner around other dogs and has even lived with a small dog. His greatest strength is likely his understanding of the needs of children.

Typical of the breed, Cheon Doong is a sensitive soul who does best with calm leadership and a steady routine. He may experience separation anxiety and can get nervous in stressful situations like vet visits, but he responds beautifully to reassurance and consistency. Cheon Doong is still mastering leash skills and can be strong in exciting environments. His ideal family will understand the needs of large-breed dogs and offer the structure, routine, and continued training he needs to thrive. As a mature gentleman, Cheon Doong doesn’t require an overly active household—just one that will include him in daily life, provide him with love and purpose, and understand that adjusting to a new home takes time and patience. With the right match, Cheon Doong will find purpose and companionship. He is a loyal, loving dog who wants to belong again. Cheon Doong is ready to give his heart to someone new. All he needs is a family who sees him not as a project, but as a partner.

If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate, and devoted companion who will reward your love with lifelong loyalty, Cheon Doong may be your perfect match. Ask to meet him today and help this gentle thunder find the quiet, loving home he so deeply deserves.

Updates:
When Cheon Doong first arrived, he was understandably very nervous. He was also quite anxious around the leash and especially the prong collar. Just seeing them would trigger panic. We’ve been working slowly on desensitizing him, and he has made a lot of progress in just one week. He still has big feelings when touched around his collar or when he sees a leash, but he works through his fears more quickly now and is able to start his walks. We began with pack walks to help ease his anxiety, and now he gets excited when it’s time for a walk, whether solo or with the pack. We are continuing to work on his leash manners as he can be a bit strong sometimes, but he is getting better by the day. He’s really enjoying exploring the neighborhood and is settling into a nice routine. He’s done well with our other two dogs, though we’re being cautious about their interactions since Cheon is eager for attention and we want to avoid creating a jealous dynamic. He’s a very smart boy and clearly has had some training before. He understands commands in both English and Korean, including sit, stay, down, and paw, though Korean does seem to be his language of choice. We’ve also started working on touch, place, and settle (in English). He’s very food motivated, which makes training fun for him and us. Cheon is a great car passenger. He easily gets in/out of the car, and gets a big goofy smile when we let him stick his head out of the window to take in all the smells. He’s doing well in his crate, and overall he’s proving to be a really good dog. He has the biggest brown eyes that are so expressive and yearn for pets. I’m excited to keep working with him and watching his confidence continue to grow. In terms of food, with his chicken allergy, we successfully transitioned him to the salmon-flavored Taste of the Wild kibble. He can be a little picky, so we’ve been adding toppers or a splash of beef broth to encourage him to finish his meals. , Cheon is doing great and has settled in beautifully with our two resident dogs. He loves playing with our smaller pup and shows such patience when she gets a little too energetic. He’s also very respectful and gentle with our older shepherd, always letting her take the lead. While he enjoys canine company, Cheon’s true focus is on his people. He’s an incredibly loyal and affectionate boy who loves nothing more than burying his head in our laps for neck scratches. As he started to bond with us, he did experience a bit of separation anxiety, but we worked with him over a weekend—coming and going at short intervals—and he quickly learned that we always come back. At home, Cheon has proven to be a wonderful house guest. He’s respectful of the rules, settles nicely, and seems to understand the rhythm of home life. He’s calm indoors, knows when it’s time to relax, and has great manners. Cheon has been doing wonderfully on walks. We’ve been using a harness recently since he had a small procedure on his neck (which is nearly healed now). He gets compliments everywhere we go and he might just be the most handsome dog in the neighborhood!

Description

Precious Paddington, lovingly nicknamed Paddi, was found as a stray in the South, and with her stunning looks and social personality, everyone assumed someone was surely missing her. Local groups posted her far and wide and contacted animal services—but no one came forward. Realizing this sweet girl deserved more than uncertainty, a plea went out… and Team MAGSR answered the call. Now safe in one of our loving foster homes, Paddington is showing us every day that someone, somewhere once loved her—and we’re ready to find her that kind of love again, this time forever.

Paddington is the definition of goofy, playful, and affectionate. She loves people, adores attention, and brings joy wherever she goes. She’s still very much a puppy at heart—bouncy, athletic, and always smiling from ear to ear. She’s also incredibly toy-savvy! Paddi has a blast entertaining herself with all sorts of toys—though like many German Shepherds, she does best with durable, tough toys to match her enthusiasm.

Paddi is currently thriving in foster care where she's learning all the good habits that come with family life. She’s adjusting well to big dogs and children, and finds kids to be endlessly entertaining—though she's still working on keeping those happy paws on the ground around little ones! Already crate trained and eager to please, Paddington is developing leash manners and has learned her first command - sit. Full of puppy energy and curiosity, this fluffy pup likes to keep a close eye on everything and everyone. With daily mental and physical exercise, along with structure and routine, Paddington shines. She's responsive on leash and excited to keep learning. She’s a great candidate for continued training, which will not only help her polish her manners, but also strengthen her bond with her new family.

Paddi is looking for an active home that can keep up with her energy and engage her mind. She would thrive with a family that enjoys playtime, outdoor fun, and regular training. If you have other large dogs or respectful children, Paddington would likely fit right in. If you're looking for a bright, silly, loving pup who’s ready to fill your life with fun, snuggles, and endless tail wags, Paddington might just be your perfect match. Ask to meet her today and start the adventure of a lifetime—Paddi is ready when you are!

Updates:
Paddington is very sweet and very smart! They haven’t played together directly yet, but she’s doing great with our two dogs, Nico (yep that Nico) and Roux. We’re working through her excitement when the other dogs come in and out of the room but it’s clear she just really wants to play with them. She sleeps in her crate all night without a sound. In and out of her crate throughout the day and she typically settles down pretty quick. Yesterday she passed multiple big and small dogs on the walk in the park and did great! No barking, no GSD squeaking, and no pulling on the leash. She even got to meet two younger kids (probably around 6-7 years old) and she did great with them. She got pets and belly rubs and was loving it. , Housebroken: Yes. Plus she sleeps straight through the night with no issues.  Other dogs ok: Yes. She has played with ours and has done great. Nico is about 75lbs and Roux is 35lbs. She has not played with any super small/lap dogs yet, but she has shown no reactivity at all to them when she sees them on walks.  She has also been around our 3 chickens and has no reactivity to them since first seeing them.  She loves playing fetch and is very agile!  She is making great progress with all of her manners as well.

Description

In a perfect world, every dog would be welcomed with everything they could ever need — kind hands, a full belly, and a soft, warm bed as part of their daily routine. Sadly, not every dog begins life that way. Some only catch glimpses of kindness when the right people cross their path. Angie was one of the lucky ones. Though she didn’t grow up in ideal circumstances, she’s known love and compassion from people who saw her gentle heart. With her loving personality and resilient spirit, Angie has impressed us from the start. Knowing she deserved the kind of life all MAGSR dogs enjoy, we were thrilled to welcome her into our family — and from the moment she arrived, Angie never looked back.

Angie is a playful, intelligent girl who adores the outdoors. She enjoys her daily adventures and seems to smile during her walks, especially in the crisp fall air. While she’s well-socialized with people, she can be a bit hand-shy and cautious in new situations. With time, patience, and understanding, Angie adjusts beautifully and bonds deeply with those she trusts. Creating a healthy bond will be key to her success. Like many shepherds, Angie thrives in an environment that offers structure, routine, and confident leadership. She’s eager to please and will blossom with continued training — not only to strengthen her bond with her forever family but to help her grow into the wonderful, well-mannered companion she’s meant to be.

Angie is searching for a committed forever home that will cherish her for a lifetime. If you’re ready to open your heart to a loyal, loving companion, who may need a little extra time and patience to adjust to your home, ask to meet Angie today. She’s ready to begin her next chapter — one filled with love, adventure, and belonging.

Description

Kratos’ journey hasn’t been an easy one. Found as a stray in a tough area, this gentle soul arrived at the shelter emaciated, heartworm positive, and fighting a heavy load of parasites. Despite his condition, the shelter staff quickly saw something special in Kratos — a quiet strength and a heart full of love. Sadly, with limited resources, the shelter couldn’t provide the care he needed, and Kratos soon found himself at risk of euthanasia. When a second and final plea for help went out, Team MAGSR couldn’t say no. Thanks to an incredible network of rescuers, an amazing foster family, and a compassionate veterinary team, Kratos finally made it to safety and began his long road to recovery.

Now part of the MAGSR family, Kratos is learning what it means to be safe and loved. Though he has clearly known both kindness and pain, he remains gentle and trusting. Kratos prefers a calm, confident leader and responds beautifully to patience and understanding. With each passing day, his light shines a little brighter as he begins to heal — body and soul. Unfortunately, Kratos still has a long way to go. Right now, our focus is helping him gain weight and clear his system of parasites before tackling his other medical needs. But with the support of our community, we know he’ll get there.

Kratos is truly a special boy who deserves every chance to thrive. Please consider donating toward his care — your generosity will not only help Kratos heal but also make it possible for us to continue saying “yes” to dogs like him. As Kratos continues to receive the care he needs to move forward, stay tuned for updates as we get to know this incredible boy. When he's ready Kratos will be looking for a forever family to give him the love he's always deserved.

Ideal/Potential Size: 60 lbs

Housebroken: Unknown

Living with: Trainer

History: Stray to Shelter

Description

Stunning Halo may be young, but her journey tells a story of quiet strength and survival. Picked up as a stray in the South with no identification and no one coming to claim her, Halo found herself in a crowded shelter where the stress of constant noise, unfamiliar smells, and the unknown began to weigh heavily on her. Like many shepherds, Halo struggled in this overwhelming environment—and time was running out. When MAGSR learned of Halo’s situation, we knew she deserved better. With the help of dedicated partners, Halo was transported to safety and welcomed into the MAGSR family. While she arrived underweight, uncertain, and heartworm positive, she also arrived with a spark of hope and the will to move forward.

Halo’s body bears the marks of hardship. Emaciated and cautious in new environments, it’s clear she’s been through more than any dog should. She is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm disease—a preventable condition that she sadly contracted due to a lack of proper care. As she heals, she will need a calm, structured environment and a family that’s willing to be patient as she continues her journey back to health.

Halo is a gentle and loyal soul who thrives with calm, confident leadership. While she may be reserved at first, once she feels safe, she blossoms into a deeply affectionate and steady companion. She’s looking for a quiet home with a patient adopter who understands that healing is—both emotional and physical—takes time. With consistency, structure, decompression and love, Halo will reward her person with unwavering loyalty and trust.

Halo’s heartworm treatment is ongoing, and while costly, we believe she is more than worth the investment. If you’re not in a position to adopt but still want to help, please consider donating to support Halo’s care. Your contribution will not only aid in her recovery but also help us continue rescuing medical dogs who need a second chance.

If you're ready to offer a safe haven to a deserving dog who’s been through the worst and is still full of love, Halo could be your perfect match. Her journey is far from over, and she just needs the right person to walk it with her. Ask to meet Halo today - and be part of her transformation.

Description

Please contribute to Rosco's Heart Fund

This sweet boy was dumped on the side of the road and picked up by a good Samaritan. Eventually, he found his way into another rescue to make sure his second chance was set up for success. That rescue later reached out for help with some of the dogs in their care, and as we all know, teamwork makes the dream work, so MAGSR didn't think twice before stepping forward to assist.

Rosco is clearly a lover. With his deep, loving eyes, he simply draws you into his soul. A huge leaner, once he's comfortable with his people, he'll shower you with attention and kisses - sometimes without even asking first! This stunning boy has moderate-energy and is an absolute gentleman. Because of his tolerant, loyal, and friendly personality, this gentle guy does well with kids and female dogs. An affectionate boy, he needs to gain a few pounds - more to love! Rosco is still working on his leash manners, but with his curious and smart nature, this may not be a super challenging task. Not only will training help him develop a healthy bond with his forever family, but it will also help him strengthen his good boy skills. Like any new dog, Rosco will thrive with structure, routine, leadership, and clear expectations; this will help him adjust to the expectations of his forever family. With a little time and patience, he's going to be the perfect companion.

Unfortunately, Rosco is heartworm positive. This diagnosis could have easily been avoided had he been kept up to date with preventatives. Knowing that Rosco needed to move forward with treatment, the rescue began the first steps in this process and our team already has plans for next steps. Heartworm treatment is expensive, but we know that handsome little Rosco is more than worth the cost. Please consider donating to Rosco's care. Your donation will not only help  Rosco, but it will also help us continue to welcome dogs with medical needs to the MAGSR family. Rosco will need to take it easy over the next couple of months during treatment. However, this will help him take the time to decompress and adjust to his forever family. If Rosco sounds like the right match for your family, ask to meet this boy today.

Updates:
Hi everyone, We wanted to share a heartfelt update on Rosco’s recovery. After spending several days at the emergency vet in grave condition, Rosco has made meaningful progress. He’s now alert, has a strong appetite, and still prances outside for potty breaks like the cheerful pup we know and love. He’s drinking lots of water, getting plenty of rest (sometimes with a little crate time when he gets too excited), and even chewing on toys here and there. These small signs of joy are so encouraging. We’re still keeping a close eye on his breathing, which has been more shallow and rapid than ideal. During the day, he’s usually in the high end of the normal range (around 29–30 breaths per minute), but at night it’s been significantly higher—sometimes double that. We spoke with the hospital earlier this week, and they advised us to monitor it closely. Rosco has a vet check scheduled later this week with a cardiologist, and we’ll be discussing these symptoms in detail to make sure his heart and lungs are functioning as they should. This visit is especially important because Rosco is heartworm positive, which means he has quite the battle ahead. The treatment process is long and delicate, and we’ll need to be extremely careful to keep him calm and stable throughout. Thank you so much for the donations we’ve received so far. Your kindness and support have helped us get Rosco through the most critical phase of his recovery. It’s a slow journey, but he is a fighter—and every bit of help gives him a better chance at healing. We’re incredibly grateful to have you in his corner. Thank you for being part of his journey.
